Disable Aero Peek in Firefox 4 to Turn Off Tab Preview in Windows 7 Taskbar
Posted in Browser
By taking advantage of Aero Peek capability, Firefox 4 adds a feature to display tab previews in Windows 7 taskbar. For Firefox users that are accustomed to open many tabs, this tab preview features is probably not effective at all. Luckily, with just some clicks, you can disable aero peek in Firefox 4.
How to disable aero peek in Firefox 4 browser:
- Open Firefox 4 and type about:config in the address bar. Press Enter to open the window.
- Now type browser.taskbar.previews in the Filter tab.
- Move your mouse to an entry named browser.taskbar.previews.enable. If the value is set as True, double-click it to set it as False.

You don’t have to restart Firefox 4 to make the change happens. After you set the value of the entry to False, the Aero Peek feature in Firefox 4 will be instantly turned off.

Thanks! Just want to add that if you are looking to revert to FF 3.x behavior all you need to change is the browser.taskbar.previews.max value to 1. Aero peak will still function, but it will only display for each Firefox window.
