Dreamscene XP: Display Animation on XP Desktop Background with XP Scene

It is Dreamscene that makes it possible for Windows user to display animation and videos on desktop background instead of displaying static wallpapers, but this Dreamscene is only for Windows Vista Ultimate. It cannot be used on previous Windows versions including Windows XP. Fortunately, with the help of XP Scene, you will be able to knock this limitation down and use Dreamscene on Windows XP to display videos and animations on Windows XP.

XP Scene is a free portable application that can enable Dreamscene on XP in three simple steps.

How to Use Dreamscene on XP:

• select one of your wmv, mpg or avi video and select Resize Mode: Use “stretch” to avoid black bars, or “keep aspect ratio” for best quality (default, recommended).
• select where the video and html-file should be saved into.
• click the “Create” button to start it.

After the files have been created, you need to go to Display Properties > Desktop > Background and then browse to the location where the html file was saved into to pick it up whenever you want to display the animation or video as XP desktop background.
