Microsoft provides compatibility pack for Windows users, and provide what is called as Open XML Converter for Mac. Simply put, it enables you to open, edit and save docx, xlsx, pptx and other file types created in Office 2007 for Windows or Office 2008 for Mac in previous Office for Mac version. You are required to already have Office 2004 11.4.0 or later, or Office v. X 10.1.9 installed to be able to open the files.
