Recover Data from Scratched CD / DVD
CD and DVD are great storage alternatives to keep your data when your hard drive just can’t hold more. They are cheap and can store huge size of data (especially DVD). Unfortunately, the biggest drawback of keeping your data in a CD or DVD is that a mere scratch on them can make the disc player unable to read the disks. When you try to copy the data, usually you’ll get an error message saying that the files are corrupted or damaged.
Luckily, it isn’t impossible to recover data from scratched CD or DVD. All this time I’ve been using Unstoppable Copier and it has never failed so far. Unstoppable Copier is a freeware that works either for Linux or Windows. The Windows OS versions that it supports (v4.1) include Windows 9x, ME, 2000, NT, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. You can download the installer or the portable version.
