Recover Deleted Photos from Memory Cards, Camera and Hard Disk For Free

There are some situations where somehow we accidentally delete photos in memory cards, camera or hard drive. There are also other situation where we want to recover the photos that we have intentionally deleted previously. No matter which situation you’re dealing with, PixFix is a free software that can recover deleted digital photos in a flash. It is a free program dedicated to recover only image files.

Once you launch the recovery program, you can select which drives that you want to recover photos from. Then, you can click on the “Start scan” button to begin the scanning process for the selected drive. You’ll just have to wait until it all done. If you think all the pictures needed have already been recovered, you can pause the scan and begin the recovery process for the already recovered photos. The paused scanning can be resumed in case you find that it hasn’t recovered yet all the photos you need.

You will likely to find other photos that you don’t need to recover exist within the list, so you can select only the ones that you need to recover instead of recovering all pictures detected. The detected photos in the list can be sorted based on size, type and name to make you easier in selecting. Once you finish the selection, you can start to recover the photos to a folder that you’ve specified previously.

PixFix freeware is claimed to be able to recover RAW photo files as well. However, this free version has limitations such as inability to recover photo with size more than 1MB. In other words, it can only recover photo with size less than 1MB individually. There is no time limitation in using it, though. If you want to remove the size limitation and get additional capabilities, then you need to upgrade it.

PixFix runs for Windows XP and Vista. The portable version is available as well as the installer.
