Sync Local Folder with Flickr Account Using Free Flickr Photo Synchronization Utility: FlickrSync
The Flickr Uploader tool offered by Flickr provide an easy way of uploading your images and videos to your Flickr account, but it doesn’t have the ability to sync photos in your desktop folder to Flickr like what is offered by FlickrSync.
FlickrSync is a free photo synchronization utility that you can configure to watch only specific folders on your desktop. Everytime you add new images to the folders and click the sync button, the images will be sent to your Flickr account. You can also have the images on your Flickr be deleted whenever you click the sync button after deleting the images on your local dekstop folder. However, the photos on your desktop folder will never be deleted if you delete any photo on your Flickr since it offers only one-way photo synchronization.
With the synchronization abilities offered by FlickrSync, you can manage images and photos on your desktop folder and sync them up later with your Flickr account to update the online photo list.
FlickrSync features
- New Sets will be created when you upload new folders.
- For each folder, you can define Flickr permissions and other synchronization options.
- Synchronize specific folders or all selected folders.
- Synchronize all image information, including metadata like title and description, keywords/tags and even geo information.
- Support all image formats that are supported by Flickr.
- Use different synchronization methods according to your needs (ex: by date taken, by caption, by filename).
- Browse local folders and flickr sets and match your local folders to the corresponding flickr sets.
- Preview the whole operations (including photo thumbnails) before synchronize them to Flickr.
- Define optional filters for each folder. For example: only synchronize to flickr images that have a certain keyword/tag or a minimal star rating on a specific folder.
- Run unattended after initial configuration for automatic synchronization.
FlickrSync is supported under Windows XP SP2 or later.
