Minimize Full Screen Games With Shortcut Keys

No Comments | Posted in Quick Tips

Running a full screen game and get stuck within because you don’t know how to minimize it while the play is going on? You have no idea about how to minimize the running game without shutting it down? Well, I do have several ways you can use. In case the first one fails, you can try the second or third or others. The similarity of the ways I use here is you minimize the full screen game using a shortcut key.

The Shortcut Keys to Minimize Full Screen Games:

  • Press Win+M to minimize all windows.
  • Press ALT+SPACEBAR+N to minimize the active windows.
  • Use Alt+Tab to switch focus to another application or window, but for this to run you should have an application left in the background. If not, you won’t be able to switch the focus.
  • Use Game Minimizer and press F12 every time you want to minimize the full screen game. The hotkey can be changed.

These are the shortcut keys I know. Can anyone let me know other shortcut keys to minimize full screen games without quitting the play?

Windows 7 Aero Snap for Vista and XP

Aero Snap is a new feature of Windows 7 which is now you can put on your Windows Vista or XP with the help of AeroSnap. The intention of the creation is to let you manage your desktop windows simply by drag and drop operation. What does it mean?

More specifically, AeroSnap enables you to maximize a window just by drag it to the top, or snap a window to a side of your desktop simply by dragging to the side, or restore the original size of the window before it is maximized or resized by dragging it to the last position.

If you don’t have any idea about this Aero Snap feature of Windows 7, then perhaps you are now a bit confused. If so, you should watch this short-duration video for a better explanation.

AeroSnap in Actions

Got the idea? Beside Windows XP or Vista, you should already have .Net Framework 2.0 or higher installed within your computer. AeroSnap works on multiple monitors as well. Cool, isn’t it? However, since this is still in beta version, there could be some error occuring. You can contact the maker should this happens so that you can get a better version soon.

Clean Junk Files With CCleaner Portable

Windows creates new files over and over again every time we use it that turns to be junk files. They accumulate over time and make your computer runs slower and slower. You may not like the fact that a computer needs regular maintenance, but it is a must unless you want to keep spending your time staring with an angry look at the progress bar of an application that seem will never come to an end. Cleaning junk files isn’t difficult, after all.

Portable CCleaner lets you clean junk files and more. There are other versions like CCleaner Slim and CCleaner standard, but I prefer the portable one since I don’t want to put another installation files inside my computer. As long as the portable version meets all that I need, I’ll take it.

Beside able to clean junk files, it also enables you to overwrite the files before deleting so that they cannot be recovered. If you have a collection of “super secret” files and you don’t want anyone to recover those files, then you will like this overwriting feature as well as the junk files cleaning.

Other extra features allows you to maintain the health of your registry by scanning and eliminating the unwanted ones, and to manage the installed applications. I love it more than the Add/Remove Program of Windows. The list of the installed applications is displayed and uninstalled faster.

Small, Fast and Free. A perfect combination of words to describe this freeware. If you run Windows on your computer, then you will like this one. Or, perhaps you use another junk files cleaner?

Change Folder Background in Windows Vista

Cannot add an image to the background of your folders in Windows Vista? It sucks, but it can be fixed easily. There is a small free utility that enables you to put your favorite image, photo, wallpaper as the background image of any folder.

It is called as Vista Folder Background which is created by Andreas. Even the latest update allows you to automatically apply the background to the subfolders.

It’s good to have this utility to enable the folder background customization, but I just can’t help myself from keep wondering why this enhancement isn’t applied in Windows Vista. It has a lot of graphical enhancement, but why this folder background changing capability isn’t supported yet?

No Comments | Posted in Graphics

If you do a search, there are many tutorials on how to turn your photos to a sketch using Photoshop. It’s great, but only if you have Photoshop. We know how expensive this software is, and the price is a number that not everyone can deal with. Luckily, there are other ways to do it. You can use online photo editor that supports sketching capability or use an application like Portable FotoSketcher.

Like the name suggests, Portable FotoSketcher doesn’t require installation. So you can sketch any photo using any computer as long as you carry it inside your USB drive and the OS installed within the computer you’re using is Windows. Have I mentioned that the usage is very simple?

It is indeed very simple that everyone can learn it quickly. You simply add the photo that you want to sketch and then control how the sketch should be drawn using the slide bars. Before saving the sketched photo, you can preview and compare it with the original one. Beside the pencil sketch, there are also other styles like pen and ink drawing. You can even beautify the sketched photo with a frame.

Not enough? Well, it lets you to save every move you take in turning your photo into a sketch, drawing or painting as a profile. If you want to sketch other photos with the same options or steps like you have done previously, you can just pick the suitable profile and load it, then save it as a JPEG image if everything is already perfect.

So, do you still need Photoshop to convert your photo into a pencil sketch?
